LEGAL RESOURCE CENTER NOW LIVE IN FOUR NEW COUNTIES!
The Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project in partnership with the law firm WilmerHale is pleased to announce that their Legal Resource Center clinic is now assisting clients in Preble, Darke, Miami, and Champaign Counties. This clinic assists clients with both post divorce issues and sealing of adult criminal records and has been a great success in Montgomery County. KATHY MILLER WINS THE 2015 PARALEGAL OF THE YEAR AWARD!
For her tireless and excellent work with the Montgomery County Domestic Relations Court, the office of the Montgomery County Clerk of courts has names Ms. Miller as their paralegal of the year for 2015. We here at the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project would like to congratulate her on this well deserved achievement!

GDVLP PRESIDENT, JUDGE MARY WISEMAN, NAMED ONE OF DAYTON’S 50 MOST INFLUENTIAL WOMEN OF 2014!
Continuing the streak of awards won by the GDVLP board of directors, Montgomery Common Pleas Court Judge, and GDVLP president, Honorable Mary Wiseman has been named as one of the fifty most influential women in the Dayton area for 2014. The Dayton Business Journal recognized her for this honor for her outstanding work and leadership in the community.
GDVLP TEAMS UP WITH THE DOMESTIC RELATIONS COURT AND DOMESTIC RELATIONS ATTORNEYS TO FILL NEED FOR DIVORCE ASSISTANCE.
The GDVLP in conjunction with the Domestic Relations Division of the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court and local attorneys has created a free workshop for those filing for divorce. Clients who file pro se paperwork with the Montgomery County Domestic Relations Court; are not represented by an attorney; and meet certain income eligibility requirements may come in and speak with an attorney on how to handle their case in court at no cost.
Workshops are held on the second floor of the Domestic Relations Court from 1:30 to 4 PM every third Thursday of the month. To apply for the workshop, please call Legal Aid of Western Ohio at 1-888-534-1432 to begin the intake and screening process.

Every year the LexisNexis legal team chooses a non-profit organization and then spends an entire day on site providing assistance.
Our organization was honored to have been selected for this year’s “LexisNexis Cares Day” where the wonderful attorneys and staff used their considerable talents to help us create a new debt collection initiative in just one afternoon!
